What is Hope?

Hope is essential to our survival, but how can we have hope in a world like ours? Not in our circumstances. Not in our financial status. Not in the things of this world. Not even in people. There is only one hope that has arrived – in the Person of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world. He has come in humble, but glorious circumstances surrounding His birth. The hope he brought has been made possible through His life, death and resurrection. We have hope because we can have eternal life in Him. For the meantime, we sing and live this hope until we see its full realization when He returns.

Come join us for our Christmas service at 2:30PM-4PM in the main auditorium. Join us for worship with songs that we all know and love led by our worship band; an adults choir singing about Hope; message about the beautiful birth of Jesus Christ, and rejoice with those committing to follow God in the waters of baptism!

Christmas hampers

Christmas Hampers

In partnership with the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton, AB, we have the privilege of sponsoring disadvantaged single-parent families in providing them groceries for the holidays. This gives them an opportunity to celebrate Christmas with their stomachs and spirits full!

When is it? Hampers are to be given to each respective family prior to Christmas Eve.

Please sign up and grab a hamper from the info booth after our worship service. For more information, contact Jonathan & Lowri-Ann.

*An ‘oath of confidentiality’ form needs to be signed by everyone helping sponsor a family.

Christmas Chapel Service

We have the pleasure of hosting a Chapel Service at Hope Mission’s Herb Jamieson Centre. An opportunity to share the beautiful story, the message of Christmas, of Jesus Christ. We are encouraged to not only lead chapel service (songs and God’s word) for them, but, to pray and connect with our brothers and sisters in the Hope Mission community.

When is it? Monday, December 17th, at 7PM.

Please connect with Pam Diche or Pastor Johnston for more details.

Street Store 2.jpg

street store

Annual street Store

The Gathering Church and Ellerslie Church, will be partnering in this year’s 6th Annual Street Store. We will be providing a “shopping experience” for the inner city people of Edmonton, where we serve them by helping them look for different items, styles, and sizes of clothes. Rarely do they get treated with respect and are usually kicked out of stores. This not only provides a small glimpse into the reality of the social disconnect and discrimination they face; but gives us an opportunity to serve in response to God’s love. The Street Store gives us an opportunity to serve together, to respond to His call of justice, to break our hearts for what breaks His, and to love who He loves! This will be at Hope Mission’s Herb Jamieson Centre.

When is it? January 19th, 2019.

Organization/Folding dates: January 6th, 15th, and 18th.

Please help us help them by donating the following items or getting into contact with either Jonathan Lok or Jeff Tao.

Hot items: backpacks, socks, undergarments, blankets, winter wear, sweaters.

All donations can be brought to Ellerslie Road Baptist Church, where designated bins can be found in the foyer for the month of december.
